Cape stalwart senior student Tiara Duffy, who is top 10 in her class and a two-sport all-state athlete in field hockey and softball, is finally off the board.

The teammate known as "Sweet T" is heading to the University of South Carolina to play softball for the Gamecocks. South Carolina plays in the powerhouse Southeastern Conference.

"I like the family atmosphere at South Carolina and how supportive they are of all the sports at the university," she said.

Tiara has played for the East Coast Xplosion, the U.S. Specialty Sports Association World Series champions, the Carpenter Cup champions and Big League World Series champions.

Tiara was on three state championship field hockey teams and was the 2013 Player of the Year.

Tiara is a member of the National Honor Society and has a 4.01 GPA.
