Cape ROTC leader thanks conference supporters

May 18, 2014

From April 10-13, eight Cape Henlopen High School JROTC cadets attended the Valley Forge Freedoms Foundation Youth Leadership conference at Valley Forge, Pa. This was a national conference that included high school students from across the country.

During the conference, the students learned about the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution. The cost for each student attending the conference was $450. Thanks to the generous monetary contributions from a variety of local community and veteran organizations, each student was able to attend the conference at a reduced cost or for no cost at all.

I want to publicly thank the following organizations for their contributions: American Legion Post 5, Rehoboth; American Legion Post 17, Lewes; Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7447, Rehoboth; AMVETS Post 2, Millsboro; Dewey Beach Lions Club; Capt. Ernest Swanson, Marine Corps League. Without their generous assistance, many of these students would not have been able to attend this prestigious national conference. Thank you.
