Pooches in the Park returns to Canalfront Park May 17

May 11, 2014

The annual Pooches in the Park returns to Lewes Canalfront Park from 1 to 3 p.m., Saturday, May 17. This festive event caters to both two-legged and four-legged family members and features fun, creative and informative activities for all pets and those who love them.

Attractions include a doggie spa for massages and acupuncture to drool over, pet portraits, CPR and first-aid instruction, specialized vendors, demonstrations, games and prizes. Furry friends will also be showcasing their obedience, agility, and dock diving skills, with last year's crowd-pleasing famous Delmarva Dock Dogs returning.

This fetching event is supported by Savannah Animal Hospital and P.U.P.S. (Pawsitively Unique Pet Shop) and Friends of Lewes Canalfont Park, all in Lewes. Pooches should be on 6- to 8-foot nonretractable leashes.

There is an entrance fee of $5 per dog, payable either on-site or online via PayPal at www.lewescanalfrontpark.org and one dog per handler is requested. There is no charge for two-legged family members, so bring the entire family and friends too. All pups who register will also receive a great “doggie bag” to take home.

This event is in one of the most beautiful locations in historic downtown Lewes, Lewes Canalfront Park, 211 Front St. on the banks of the Lewes-Rehoboth Canal. For information go to www.lewescanalfrontpark.org, like on Facebook or call 302-645-6295.
