Mahaffie will provide experience and knowledge

May 9, 2014

Mike Mahaffie has experience dealing with many difficult, sensitive and challenging issues from the 15 years he has served on the Lewes Planning Commission, which he currently chairs.  Some of the issues, which many of us remember well, include the division of the Healing-Maul property and the Showfield project.

Change is never easy, but it is a given and how you handle the challenges of change and the skill sets you bring to the table make all the difference. In addition to Mike Mahaffie's local experience, he also has knowledge and experience at the state level which Lewes will benefit from in many ways.

He is currently the deputy director of the Government Information Center, Delaware Department of State, which is a good example of his leadership abilities. Prior to that, Mike Mahaffie was a principal planner with the state's Planning Office which has already benefited Lewes as Mike was involved with drafting the 2005 Lewes Comprehensive Plan and revising of the city's subdivision ordinance and zoning code.

A vote for Mike Mahaffie will provide Lewes with both local and state level experience and knowledge.
