Please reconsider film fest decision

May 18, 2014

The following letter was sent to Ms. Tiffany Derrickson, Midway Realty (owner of Midway Theaters) with a copy submitted to the Cape Gazette for publication.

The Rehoboth Beach Film Society with its year-round offerings and fabulous film fest is very precious to my husband and me. We have enjoyed it since the first festival was held in the Rehoboth Mall theaters. We even went to a fundraiser during the summer before the first festival.

Attendees come from many states and spend lots of money which is good for Sussex county. They also enjoy the warmth and camaraderie of the festival. The international scope of the festival gives us videos into other worlds. It is a real cultural treasure.

Would you please reconsider allowing the festival to rent some of the screens at your theater? I would certainly be most grateful.

Thank you for your time and consideration.
