Wilson and Phillips: The disgrace of Sussex

May 22, 2014

Sadly, ignorance is alive and well in our county.

Sussex County Council members Sam Wilson and Vance Phillips have done it again. They have made the ultimate mockery of Sussex County Council. I am deeply saddened and disgusted at this latest display of ignorance and hubris. However, I’m also more ready and willing than ever to do whatever I can to help make the changes necessary to bring Sussex County into the light of the 21st century.

The November elections will be upon us in just a few months. Unless Sussex County wishes to remain the laughing stock of this beautiful and historic state, it is up to us to put an end to the travesty that is called Sussex County Council. Mr. Phillips is up for re-election. Is there honestly anyone in their right mind who still thinks this man deserves the right to represent them? His behavior has proven his base approach to the business of the county, honesty, women, ethics, morality, honor…need I go on?

I am immediately joining the NAACP in order to do as much as I possibly can to further their mission which aligns sperfectly with my own: “…to ensure the political, educational, social, and economic equality of rights of all persons and to eliminate race-based discrimination.”
