Peninsula Club awarded Top 50 Facility by Folds of Honor Foundation
The Peninsula Golf & Country Club, known as the Pebble Beach of the East, raised $22,261 in 2013 from Patriot Golf Day during the Labor Day holiday weekend.
Benefitting the Folds of Honor Foundation, The Peninsula Golf & CC donated $ from each of the 495 greens fees that were paid. Individual donations over a dollar were also accepted throughout the three days of play. In 2012, the club raised $7,221 which qualified the club to rank as a Top 100 Facility with the Folds of Honor Foundation. In 2013, fundraising efforts qualified the club to rank as a Top 50 Facility.
“Our members clearly embraced this marvelous event, as our fairways and greens were filled throughout the entire Labor Day weekend,” said Donald DeMasters, general manager of The Peninsula Golf & Country Club. “The Folds of Honor Foundation provides an incredible service to our men and women, and their families of the armed forces, and I couldn’t be prouder of how our members once again fully supported Patriot Golf weekend.”
The Folds of Honor Foundation provides scholarships to families of soldiers and military personnel who have become disabled or lost their lives in the line of duty. Over the years, Patriot Golf Day has raised more than $17 million with more than 4,500 golf facilities participating annually, including many Troon Golf properties.
Additional funds were raised by The Peninsula Golf and Country Club on Patriot Golf weekend through hole sponsorships, free rounds of golf raffle drawings and a Beat the Pro contest with head golf professional Michael Nieder. One of the weekend’s most successful efforts was a silent auction which netted $12,375.

The Peninsula Golf & Country Club is managed by Troon Privé, the private club division of Troon. Members at Troon Privé-managed clubs enjoy reciprocal play at more than 30 private clubs around the world, as well as preferred rates at Troon Golf-managed daily fee and resort facilities.
