The 100 Men Reading program visited Millsboro Elementary School May 14.

The 100 Men Reading is the brainchild of then 10-year-old Imani Henry who is currently a student at P.S. du Pont Middle School in Wilmington. Imani, a Reading Assist Institute alumnus, wanted to promote reading and literacy development among young children in Delaware.

Imani co-authored a Macy's Grant called Reading is Fundamental with a vision of having 100 men go into classrooms to read to children in kindergarten through third grade. The program came to Sussex County in June of 2013 at H.O. Brittingham Elementary in Milton. The May 14 reading at Millsboro Elementary brought 19 men to read to the students.
