Camp Arrowhead invites public to flag-raising ceremony May 26

May 20, 2014

The American flag provides a sense of unity, pride and inspiration to citizens representing the strength of the United States of America.

Camp Arrowhead will host a Memorial Day flag-raising event at 10 a.m., Monday, May 26, that is open to the public. Camp Arrowhead alumni and friends are working together to paint its long-standing flagpole as a special Camp Arrowhead project. This year, the Star-Spangled Banner is celebrated by Camp Arrowhead as workers gather to raise a new flag to mark 200 years of honor and observance.

Camp Arrowhead will also be celebrating a birthday this year, as it has been providing summer camp programming for 60 years. Camp Arrowhead continues to provide a shining light to campers, alumni and friends with new memories and stories of good times at camp. Every summer, children come from local neighborhoods, neighboring states and abroad to experience the friendship, fun and fellowship of summer at Camp Arrowhead.

The Camp Arrowhead Alumni Association maintains strong membership as alumni often return to reconnect with old friends and participate in camp activities. The Camp Arrowhead Alumni Association supports many special projects with funds, volunteer time and camaraderie that have continued since members’ camping days, sometimes across decades.

Camp Arrowhead would like to invite the community to join in this Memorial Day celebration to raise the American flag on its special flagpole.
