Zimmerman honored for 150 career goals

June 2, 2014

The Sussex Technical High School girls' lacrosse team honored senior Dorian Zimmerman of Frankford in recognition of her 150th career goal during Senior Night May 8. Dorian accomplished the milestone May 5 in a game against Ursuline Academy.

In her congratulatory remarks to Dorian, coach Kathleen Fluharty said, “Little things do make a huge difference. Barely 5 foot and 90 pounds, Dorie Zimmerman is the glue and the punch that any team needs to progress. In every contest, she has the largest drive, the most intensity, and is never intimidated by someone else’s size or ability.”

Dorian has played varsity lacrosse during all four of her high school years. During her first three years, the young lady accrued 91 goals. She hit the 100 mark in the first week of this season after having five goals apiece in the first two games.

Fluharty continued, describing Dorian as the go-to girl coast to coast on the field. She added, “Dorie has learned to combine all facets of the game to become that complete player that a coach dreams to coach.”
