Merino-Sanchez and Swontek sign letters of intent

Cape teammates Miguel Merino-Sanchez and Billy Swontek recently signed letters of intent to play at Goucher College and Rowan University, respectively. The two seniors led Cape soccer to a 14-2 record in 2013.

Merino-Sanchez will join the Goucher College Gophers out of Towson, Md., and play in the Landmark Conference where the team posted an 8-7-3 overall record and a 2-3-2 conference in 2013. The Gophers play against teams such as Drew, Susquehanna and Catholic University.

Swontek will play with the Rowan University Owls out of Glassboro, N.J., a member of the New Jersey Athletic Conference, where they posted a 10-9 overall record in 2013 with a conference record of 3-6. They play against teams such as Richard Stockton College, Kean University and Ramapo College.
