Eight Cape JROTC students chosen for leadership conference

June 2, 2014

Eight of Cape Henlopen High School’s JROTC cadets were chosen to attend the Valley Forge Freedoms Foundation Youth Leadership Conference April 10-13 in Valley Forge, Pa., joining students from other Mid Atlantic-area schools.

While there, cadets learned to understand and appreciate the U.S. Constitution and its amendments. They also participated in several activities that helped them increase their communication skills, widened their knowledge of responsibilities, and strengthened teamwork. They got to create their own laws and act as Congress to pass them. They also got to look at laws from a citizen's point of view by participating  in entrepreneurial exercises and business activities.

In attendance were in back (l-r) Alex Dominick, Ross Hicks, Dean Hysock and Zach Harris; in front are Samantha Franklin and Lexi Atsidis. Not shown are participants Dominique Tusso and Victoria Handlin.
