Vocal quintet Qvinctvs to perform concert June 12 at St. Peter's

May 30, 2014

Qvinctvs, a male vocal quintet composed of five professional singers from northern Delaware, will give their first southern Delaware performance at 7 p.m., Thursday, June 12, at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Lewes. This is both the kickoff event for the Delaware Chapter of the American Choral Directors' Association Rehoboth Beach Summer Choral Workshop and the St. Peter's Summer Spirituality Series. This concert is free and open to the public.

Qvinctvs includes bass baritone Rob Kennan, music director at St. Paul's United Methodist Church; tenor David Lockart, a professional musician from Newark, DEACDA president-elect and associate director for CoroAllegro; tenor/counter tenor Jeffrey Manns, music director at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, director of CoroAllegro and DEACDA Worship and Music R&S chair; countertenor/bass baritone David Schueck, a professional musician from Wilmington; and countertenor/baritone Clint Williams, performing arts chair at Sanford School, DEACDA past president, and DMEA president-elect.

The concert will feature a wide variety of musical selections, including music from the European Renaissance, brand-new selections by Pierson and Antognini, and fun pieces including “My Romance,” “At Last,” the popular Pentatonix hit “Run To You,” and the wacky “Caffeine Overload Polka.” Qvinctvs combines a unique sense of humor and five outstanding male voices to present a beautiful musical performance.

From 7 to 8:30 p.m. each Thursday night through Aug. 28, expert presenters will engage participants in the parish hall of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, at 211 Mulberry St., Lewes. Fellowship and locally owned Kings ice cream will follow each presentation. All are invited to attend these free sessions, which are designed for reflection and dialogue. It is a chance to learn more about a fascinating topic and engage in subsequent discussion.
