Nominations for Spirit of Hope Award due by June 4 to Tunnell Cancer Center

Ceremony to be held June 7 before Miracle Mile event in Rehoboth

The Tunnell Cancer Center seeks nominations for the 2014 Spirit of Hope Award recognizing the hard hard work of an individual who takes extraordinary steps to make a difference in the lives of others. The award will be presented prior to the Miracle Mile walk at 8 a.m., Saturday, June 7, at All Saints’ Episcopal Church on Olive Avenue in Rehoboth Beach.

Last year’s Spirit of Hope Award recognized the Sussex County Cancer Survivors Fund for its support of local cancer patients. The first award recipient was Sarah Hawtof, who initiated the Cranes for Hope campaign.

Nominations, due Wednesday, June 4, are now available and are being accepted at the center , 18947 John J. Williams Highway in Rehoboth Beach. Those submitting a nomination are asked to write a few paragraphs about how the nominee demonstrated compassion, commitment, selfless dedication, a positive attitude, and how he or she inspires others.
