Thanks go out to Friends of Canalfront Park

June 2, 2014

Many thanks to Stephanie Boright and all the terrific board members and volunteers at Friends of the Canalfront Park for their recent donation of $10,000 to the Canalfront Park Endowment at the Greater Lewes Foundation.

This gift, plus their other grants to the city for furniture and park restoration, is the result of their hard work, creating wonderful events at the park while generating funds for park maintenance and beautification. Thanks to their efforts, the park has developed a robust community of supporters and become the popular gathering place for a wide variety of activities that was envisioned in its earliest plans.

The Friends’ endowment donation, along with support from many other caring individuals and organizations, will be put to good use for decades to come in providing annual support for park upkeep.

The Friends of the Park continues to be a wonderful example of how a community can come together around a great project.
