Cape students host field day for students of Lullaby Learning Center

June 8, 2014

Cape Henlopen High School students from the early childhood education pathway celebrated their hard work with an end of the year field day May 21 for the preschool students of Lullaby Learning Center.

The graduating students from the high school have spent the last three years studying all the aspects of early childhood growth and learning in preparation of entering the education field as a career. In addition to their academic studies, these students have spent many hours in the preschool classrooms of Lullaby Learning Center gaining hands on experience and training hours interacting with the students.

Lullaby Learning Center offers care and educates children of the community from birth through 5 years, and offers a preschool program in which students prepare for kindergarten.

The morning was packed with games and treats enjoyed by all of the preschool students. Activities included potatoes sack races, water balloon tosses, obstacle courses, relay races, a petting zoo and much more. Alongside teacher Linda Marvel and several undergraduate students of the early childhood pathway, the graduating Cape seniors provided all the children with field day T-shirts, prizes and awards. Lullaby students and staff thanked their Cape friends for the day's fun.
