Democrats color Sussex council chambers

Sussex County 38^th Democratic District Committee Chairman Eric West appears before Sussex County Council June 3 reminding council members that all people are people of color. He was accompanied by Anne Allen and District 6 Senate candidate Claire Snyder Hall, right. West was referring to the recent debate over race that occurred when council members Sam Wilson and Vance Phillips refused to donate money from their councilmanic funds to the Lower Sussex NAACP Youth Council. Milford resident Charles Garrod also addressed council asking Wilson and Phillips to apologize for their action and comments about the NAACP. “You elected officials should be focused on helping people and not insulting them,” he said.
