ENCORE Thrift Store will close June 14
Clear Space Theatre has announced the closing of ENCORE Thrift Shop. The store will begin a clearance sale immediately and will close Saturday, June 14.
Donations of clothing and household items are no longer being accepted.
“ENCORE was started in 2009 by volunteers as an auxiliary fundraiser for Clear Space Theatre.
With increasing competition from thrift stores, and the need to focus resources on the theatre operations we felt it was time to close ENCORE,” said Wesley Paulson, executive director of Clear Space Theatre.
Paulson adds: “The number of thrift stores on Route 1 doubled during 2013 and this impacted our sales. With increased attendance at the theatre it is time for the staff and board of directors to focus efforts on our core mission. We are grateful to the Ingram family, landlord for ENCORE, for their support over the years. ”
Founded in 2004, Clear Space Theatre celebrates its 10th anniversary this year. Summer programs include a Musical Theatre Summer Camp for children and teens, and a full season of shows including "Oliver!," "Sordid Lives" and "The Full Monty."
