Chamber holds ribbon cutting at HeartWish's new Rehoboth location
The Rehoboth Beach-Dewey Beach Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting ceremony June 2 for Heartwish Massage & Bodywork. Members of the Chamber’s Meet & Greet Committee were present to congratulate Heartwish on their new location.
HeartWish Massage & Bodywork owned by local therapist Greer Thompson, announced its new location in the Shops at The Pearl at 301 Rehoboth Ave. in Rehoboth Beach. Thompson opened the studio a year ago, across the street in a charming one room beach cottage. While it suited her needs at first, she decided to upgrade to a more professional space with three treatment rooms and a waiting room that radiate tranquility.
Thompson is a graduate of The Academy of Massage & Bodywork located in Bear. She is a licensed massage therapist in Delaware and insured by the American Massage Therapy Association. She specializes in heart-centered Swedish, deep tissue, and energy work. HeartWish also offers body wraps and scrubs for those seeking spa treatments.
The HeartWish Chakra Balance has also become a local favorite. A Reiki practitioner for over eight years, Thompson infuses her knowledge of crystal healing to accompany the clearing and balancing of the body's seven major chakras. This type of energy work promotes emotional, mental and physical wellness and compliments both medical and alternative healing protocols.
Thompson's education at the American College of Health and Sciences in Portland, Ore. allows her to bring her knowledge of medicinal herbs, aromatherapy, nutrition, and alternative healing modalities to the table- literally! Her work as a mother, doula, and midwife's assistant brings the nurturing and compassionate energy to her prenatal massages, so greatly needed by expectant mothers.
This move has also allowed Thompson to bring in Soulstice Skin & Body, owned by Michelle Boussard-Books, a licensed esthetician of seven years and a certified massage technician. Soulstice Skin & Body offers organic facials with Ilike Skin Care line, waxing, dermaplaning and massage. Thompson looks forward to Boussard-Books growing her new business while complimenting HeartWish's services.
