Overfalls Foundation has successful opening

June 14, 2014

The Overfalls Foundation would like to thank all who joined in making our annual Opening Party and Auction a great success! We certainly painted the town red! It was fun to see everyone participating in various events, from the the wine grab, and 50-50 to the live and silent auctions.

Most of all, it was wonderful to see old friends and supporters enjoying a perfect evening with good food and toe-tapping music from Buffalo Chip and the Heard, while at the same time supporting the Overfalls Lightship and the American Lightship Museum.

We are especially grateful to our primary sponsor, Community Bank Delaware, our other sponsors, Berkshire-Hathaway Gallo Lee Ann Wilkenson Group, PNC, Evergreen, Lewes Printing, and Christine Cronenwett. Again, we cannot thank enough our other local friends who supported us through advertising and donations, as well as with service as committee members, helpers, hostesses, parking coordinators and bartenders.

A special thank you goes to our auctioneer, Dennis Forney, and to Jay Taylor and the staff of the Virden Center for giving us smooth sailing all evening.

Most of all, we thank our patrons for supporting the efforts of the Overfalls Foundation and the American Lightship Museum. We hope you will come to tour the ship and participate in our other events at the ship this summer, which will bring much camaraderie and enjoyment.
