Children and Teens Summer Reading Program begin with signups June 16

June 12, 2014

The Lewes Public Library kicks off its Children and Teens Summer Reading Programs with signups starting Monday, June 16, followed by multiple programs each week throughout the summer.

The children’s librarian, Maureen Miller, will be holding a Science Explorers program for school-aged children at 1 p.m. each Tuesday and will host special performances at 10:30 a.m. each Thursday. These programs will be provided in addition to the weekly story times.

Teens will have the opportunity to Spark A Reaction at 2 p.m. each Thursday. Students 12 and older are welcome to participate in weekly activities, including building an animatronic arm, a molecular gastronomy demonstration and tasting, and creating melted art pieces. Teens that complete their summer challenge bingo board will win books, Tshirts and other goodies and be entered for prize drawings at the end of summer.

Summer reading registration and specific program information can be found at leweslibrary.org starting June 16.
