The following letter was sent to Sussex County Council members with a copy submitted to the Cape Gazette for publication.
I am unable to attend tomorrow's meeting, but I would like your support in including mobile/manufactured homes in the definition of a dwelling. I am a former member of the Governor's Council of Manufactured Homes and have always worked to include these types of homes as dwellings.
I owned a mobile home for 12 years and was taxed on the home as if it is a dwelling, therefore it only makes sense if we are taxed as real estate on the home it should be considered a dwelling.
The fair and reasonable thing to do is bring the ordinance into the 21st Century in classifying these homes as dwellings. Thank you for your kind consideration and attention to this matter.
