Episcopal Partners raise funds for Congo
Organizers for the event gathered for a photo with Miriam. Miriam was adopted by a local husband and wife. The partnership is establishing another nutrition center called Miriam's Table for a village three miles away in another area of Mpasa. Miriam's Table will feed these children the same nutrition to keep these children alive and healthy. The conference goal is to build a shelter to house the program. A fundraiser for the Central Congo Episcopal Area Partnership Projects was held at the Delaware Distilling Company June 3. The Peninsula Delaware Conference has had a relationship with the Central Congo Episcopal Area since the late 1990s. Their partnership now includes The Eastern PA Conference and the Western North Carolina Conference. The partnership is raising funds for the severely malnourished children by supporting the Mpasa Medical Clinic in Central Congo. Mpasa also has nutrition program for the elderly. The conference also have plans to expand the Mpasa clinic. The partnership has a sewing and agricultural programs to help families become self sufficient.
