Heidi Lowe Gallery to display emerging jewelry artists’ work

June 12, 2014

Heidi Lowe Gallery is teaming up with the Jewelry Edition Collective to highlight the work of emerging jewelry artists. An opening will take place from 6 to 9 p.m., Saturday, June 14.

“Heidi Lowe Gallery is committed to supporting the work of new jewelry artists,” gallery owner Lowe said. “My jewelry studio is only made possible by the talented artists who contribute unique and custom works of art for display. It is important to support those who are just starting out in their careers, many of whom have interesting and fresh approaches to jewelry design.”

The Jewelry Edition Collective is a project cofounded by Kat Cole and Laura Wood to support and promote new jewelry artists’ work. The Jewelry Edition Collective show features Autumn Brown, Kat Cole, Laritza Garcia, Laura Wood, Leia Zumbro, Sarah Holden, and Tara Locklear.

Heidi Lowe Gallery is hosting several upcoming openings this summer. Openings begin at 6 p.m. and include Saturday, July 12, Gem Specification by jewelry artists Nikki Couppee and Shelly McMahon; and Saturday, Aug. 9, Home by jewelry artists Karen Vanmol and Courtney Kemps. The gallery is also featuring an artist each month and a specially created work for the gallery. This month’s artist is Ashley Buchanan from Norcoss, Ga. Buchanan uses a special technique to create her jewelry where she handcuts brass and powdercoats it, allowing the brass to become unexpected, vibrant colors.

Heidi Lowe Gallery is also now serving locally roasted, sustainably sourced Tiny Bean Coffee Company coffee drinks including espressos, Americanos, lattes and cappuccinos.

Heidi Lowe Gallery’s summer hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. Heidi Lowe Gallery is the little yellow cottage at 328 Rehoboth Ave. in Rehoboth Beach. The gallery pushes the boundaries of art jewelry in the lower Delaware region. It specializes in jewelry made by studio artists and features Lowe’s innovative work as well as jewelry from artists from all over the country.
