First Delaware white marlin catch recorded June 11

June 13, 2014

Capt. Hank Draper and his crew aboard "Prime Hook" recorded June 11 the first white marlin release by a boat from a Delaware port for the 2014 offshore season. Shown with Hank are Mark Layton and angler Aaron Hood. The fish took a blue and white Ilander/ballyhoo combo in 80 fathoms of the Baltimore Canyon. It measured 61 inches and was tagged with a Billfish Foundation tag. Will Emmert was also on board, and the guys had five yellowfins to 50 pounds as well. The white was Aaron's first billfish, so of course he took the obligatory ceremonial swim in the 71.5 degree water it came from.
