Submission deadline July 15 for some workshops
June 23, 2014

The Seventh Annual Lewes Creative Writers’ Conference will be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 16, at the Lewes Public Library. Workshops on a variety of writing-related topics will be held throughout the day. The Lewes Creative Writers’ Conference is sponsored by the Lewes Public Library, the National League of American Pen Women Diamond Branch, the Delaware Division of Libraries, the Delaware Division of the Arts and the Rehoboth Beach Writers’ Guild. To register for this free conference, visit or stop by the library, 111 Adams Ave.

There are two morning sessions. Workshops offered during the first morning session include The Key to Memoir, Setting, and YA Writers Workshop (small-group session). Workshops offered during the second morning session include Creating Characters Readers Can’t Forget, Young Adult Literature and Poetry Writing (small-group session).

Following a lunch break where participants can attend a lunchtime chat offered by the Delaware Division of the Arts or listen to readings by workshop presenters, there is an afternoon session with four workshop choices. These include The Poem You Weren’t Expecting, Writing Feature Stories, Getting Published and Poetry Writing (small-group session).

Space is limited in the three small-group sessions, YA Writers Workshop, and the two Poetry Writing workshops; and prior submission of materials is required by Tuesday, July 15. Submission requirements can be found with the registration materials online or at the library.
