In celebration of LHS Boat Build

June 19, 2014

I would like to celebrate the teams, sponsors and volunteer crew of another great Lewes Historical Society Father's Day Weekend Boat Build. It is amazing what Teams Evans, Kocher, Lieb, Strumsky, Wyss and Zawislak accomplished between noon Friday, and the 1 p.m. launch Sunday. For the fifth year in a row, all seaworthy!

Thanks to Mr. P's and Touch of Italy for feeding us, to West Marine for lifejackets, and to the Pilots Association, the Lewes Wooden Boat Fund, and the Wooden Boat Crew Oarsmen, for helping to fund all that is needed to build the kits and put them together.

Thanks to the entire staff of the Lewes Historical Society for their assistance with so many aspects of the event.

And last, but not least, a huge thanks to the crew, who spent countless hours building the boat kits, setting up and running the event, and assisting and encouraging the teams: Jimmy and Susan Bertholet, Loren Bystol, Joe DeFeo, Irv Eberhart,Mel Fortney, Jim and Ken Gent, Pete Hansot, Rick Hoenan, Bob Hyberg, Al Klineburger, Bob and PJ Kotowski, Jim and Carol McKelvey, Jack Mooney, Chuck Moore, John Seipp, Alex Sydnor and Mike Taylor.
