Long & Foster Rehoboth, Lewes and Bethany Beach take part in Community Service Day

June 27, 2014

Long & Foster Real Estate Inc. announced that thousands of its sales agents and staff, including those at the Rehoboth Beach, Lewes and Bethany Beach offices, rolled up their sleeves and took part in the company’s annual Community Service Day held June 4. Long & Foster is the largest independent residential real estate company in the United States.

Long & Foster’s annual Community Service Day takes place at its nearly 180 offices throughout the Mid-Atlantic; Washington, D.C.; and Northeast regions including its headquarters in Chantilly, Va. The annual event provides a day for Long & Foster agents and staff to give back to their community through a variety of service projects, including collecting food for those in need and cleaning up local parks, among many other projects.

Sixteen sales agents from the Long & Foster Rehoboth Beach and Lewes offices volunteered with Epworth United Methodist Church in Rehoboth Beach. Epworth UMC has an extensive giving program that works to feed the hungry, shelter the homeless during cold weather, and provide meals once a week to the International Student Outreach Program, to name just a few. Volunteers picked vegetables from the church’s garden, cleaned and packaged them for the hungry, built a picnic table, and reorganized and helped clean a number of classrooms for transferring items to and from the church.

Bethany Beach office volunteers worked to fill a truckload of furniture and household items to donate to The Christian Storehouse, a resource center, thrift store and food bank center.

"This annual event, now in its 17th year, is a vitally important part of Long & Foster’s culture,” says P. Wesley Foster Jr., chairman and CEO of The Long & Foster Companies. “Our sales associates and employees gain a tremendous sense of personal satisfaction by contributing their time and effort to the local communities in which we live and work."

"The Bethany Beach office looks forward to Community Service Day and chooses a different charity to work with each year,” said Manager Dottie Wells. “We have raised money for many charities in our community, not only for Community Service Day, but for other projects throughout the year, as well.”

In addition to its dedication to serving the community, Long & Foster Real Estate is committed to the success of its sales associates and is an industry leader in providing the latest and best tools, technology and training. For more information, go to www.LongandFoster.com.
