Miss Delaware 2014 loses crown due to age

The Miss Delaware Scholarship Organization has announced today that first runner up, Brittany Lewis of Wilmington, has been awarded the title of Miss Delaware 2014 effective June 25. She will officially be crowned Thursday, June 26, at Dover Downs Hotel Casino in the Mezzanine at 7:30 p.m., at the site of the annual Miss Delaware Pageant and will go on to represent the state at the national competition.

Following the Miss Delaware Pageant, it was determined that Amanda Longacre exceeded the age requirement in order to be eligible to compete, therefore, the Miss Delaware 2014 title is awarded to Brittany Lewis.

The Miss Delaware Pageant is proud to congratulate Brittany and wishes Amanda the very best on her future endeavors. The organization awards over $40,000 of scholarships to young women competing in the state of Delaware each year to realize their educational aspirations while also providing a voice for them to champion important causes.
