Sandor 'Alex' Czeiner, expert carpenter

Sandor "Alex" Czeiner, 90, of Lewes, passed away Tuesday, June 24, 2014, with his loving wife at his side. He was born in Hungary Dec. 23, 1923, son of the late Julius and Anna (Schaedl) Czeiner.

Mr. Czeiner lived in Germany for five years before following his dream to come to America. When he arrived in America, Mr. Czeiner lived in Pottstown, Pa. with his uncle. It was here that he would begin a lifelong career as a small home builder, utilizing his expert carpentry skills.

In 1953 Mr. Czeiner married the love of his life, Rosemarie Renner. They would live in Pennsylvania for 28 years before relocating in 1981 to the Lewes area. Mr. Czeiner built his retirement home in Lewes where he would enjoy his time fishing and gardening.

He loved the ocean and watching his favorite bird, the seagull, in flight. He enjoyed cooking up his fresh catch and sharing a meal with friends. Mr. Czeiner was an avid gardener who had a natural green thumb. His cucumber crop was always the best! Friends and neighbors looked forward to Mr. Czeiner's homegrown cucumbers.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Czeiner was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Rose Marie (Renner) Czeiner and his feline companion, Kerer Kerer.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, July 1, at 9:30 a.m., at St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church, 152 Tulip Drive, Lewes. Entombment will follow Mass at Gethsemane Cemetery Mausoleum, 3139 Kutztown Road, Laureldale, Pa. Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Lewes.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church.
