Singing string quartet returns to Rehoboth Beach Sept. 26

July 24, 2014

An all-male string quartet with the memorable name Well-Strung was such a sensation last year that CAMP Rehoboth not only invited the group back, but also moved them to a larger venue, the Rehoboth Beach Convention Center.

The musicians, who boast serious classical cred along with their bulging biceps, will appear for a single performance at 9 p.m., Friday, Sept. 26. This will be an all-new show, so even people who got into one of last year’s sold-out shows are urged to save the date. Tickets are available at camprehoboth.com.

Well-Strung is an accomplished group of classical musicians who put their own spin on Mozart and Vivaldi, but also take on Rihanna, Adele, Lady Gaga, and other contemporary artists. “Whether you like classical or pop, these guys have something for both,” said Kimberly Grim, a resident of Rehoboth Beach who attended the show last year. “Amazing musicians and very charismatic. A ton of fun.”

Carl Schloegel, who also saw the show, said, “An amazingly gifted and talented group of string instrumentalists bringing together classical and pop music with blended voices in a whole new way.” Video clips from some of the group’s performances can be viewed at www.well-strung.com/video.asp.

Well-Strung consists of first violinist Edmund Bagnell, second violinist Christopher Marchant, cellist Daniel Shevlin, and violist Trevor Wadleigh. The quartet was formed by producer/co-writer/manager Mark Cortale and Marchant. Individually and as a group, they have played concerts around the world, and have theater credits in addition to their impressive musical accomplishments. The group has been featured in a wide variety of newspapers and magazines and has appeared on television news programs and the "Today" show.

The presenting sponsors for this year’s show are CAMP Rehoboth Community Center, Stephen Manos, and Dos Locos Fajita & Stonegrill Restaurant. The sponsor for the show is Charlie Lee and Horst Boehlendorf - Hosrt’s Consulting Services Inc. Additional sponsorship opportunities may be available. Call 302-227-5620 for information.
