The Clear Space Theatre Company announces Free Fridays for performances of the Musical Theatre Summer Intensives. The Summer Intensive camps are an extension of the long-running Broadway Bound program where students from grades one through 12 study the craft of theater through five separate weeklong camps held at the Clear Space Theatre in downtown Rehoboth Beach.

Mirroring the rehearsal and production process of Clear Space’s own summer repertory season, students rehearse, create and perform a condensed version of a popular Broadway musical in just five days. Guided by the Clear Space faculty, students receive instruction in acting, dance and vocal technique.

The Free Friday performances begin with "The Jungle Book" by grades one to three Friday, July 11; "Willy Wonka" by grades four to six July 18, "Grease" by grades seven to 12 Aug. 1; and "Mamma Mia" featuring students who have been recommended by the faculty from all five camps Aug. 8. The Acting Summer Intensive grades one to 12 will present "James and the Giant Peach" Friday, July 25. All performances are at 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.

“The Summer Intensives have infinite rewards for all involved - from the campers to the faculty,” said Artistic Director Doug Yetter. “The students take such remarkable pride in their accomplishments over the course of the week. Because of the amount of information students have to absorb, you can literally watch the transformation in their work on an hourly basis.”

Clear Space is also offering a rotating trio of main stage productions through Labor Day weekend with "Oliver!" "The Full Monty" and "Sordid Lives." Christopher Peterson returns with "The Best of the Rest of EYECONS"  every Saturday following the main stage production and Sundays at 9 p.m. Visit www.ClearSpaceTheatre.org for complete show schedule or reservations, or call the box office at 302-227-2270.
