McGuiness gets things done in Rehoboth

July 10, 2014

I am writing to express my wholehearted support for Kathy McGuiness as commissioner for the City of Rehoboth Beach.  I have worked closely with her in a variety of capacities for about 10 years and have found her to be a tireless fighter for our quality of life and for the long-term health of the city.  Specifically, her ability to get things done is most impressive.

She was a founding board member to create the Rehoboth Beach Main Street organization and keep the fireworks happening every year.  As a commissioner in the past, she supported the Rehoboth Farmer’s Market, Sister Cities program, lake buffers, tree ordinance and many other city actions. She also participated in the Rehoboth Beach-Dewey Beach Chamber of Commerce campaigns.

She is an independent thinker and has my admiration as a person who can respectfully disagree with certain people, yet still work with them in a positive and productive manner.  She is exactly what this city needs.  I’ll be casting my vote for her on Aug. 9 in the city election, and I hope others do the same.
