G. Love to play free concert July 17 at The Starboard in Dewey

The annual G. Love show at The Starboard Restaurant in Dewey Beach will take place Thursday, July 17. The performer has graced The Starboard stage each summer since 2006. Gear up for a great night in Dewey Beach as owner Steve “Monty” Montgomery and G. Love join forces to bring patrons a night of live music which is, as always, free of charge. This is a 21 and older event.

Montgomery is known for throwing the best parties in town and welcoming patrons to enjoy music with no cover charge. The free G. Love concert every summer is just another way Montgomery helps set his establishment apart from the pack. It all began eight years ago when G. Love came into the Starboard Restaurant for a drink after sitting in with Robert Randolph, a personal friend. While having that drink, he and a buddy thought it would be fun to do an acoustic show at the Starboard the next night...as they say, the rest is history.

G. Love recognizes that having concerts free of charge is part of Montgomery’s way of giving back to his community, and for him, it’s a great time playing the show each year. Since he has family in the area as well, he gets to visit with them and enjoy the laid-back beach vibes the area boasts.
