Milton Garden Club president says thanks

July 22, 2014

The Milton Garden Club Inc. would like to thank absolutely all of you who made our 15th Annual Garden and Home Tour held July 12, a great success. We surpassed the amount of tour books that we had published, that being 300; and, we sold 414 books total. It was a record setter for the tour!

The compliments and positive comments from all who strolled through the gardens and homes on Union Street were so overwhelmingly positive. Tour goers were so pleased to be able to talk to the homeowners and gardeners who worked so hard to make this event the success that it was.

I want to thank all the businesses and individuals who were so generous in placing ads in our tour books, to the homeowners who so graciously opened their beautiful homes and gardens for all to see; to those businesses that took the time to sell our tour books, which included Pepper Greenhouses, The Milton Historical Society, Community Bank, Lewes Printing, Hillside Florist, Milton Town Hall, Salon Milton and the Garden Club which sold tour books at the Milton Farmer’s Market. Another thank you goes out to the Milton Art Guild for participating with artists and artisans in many of the gardens. A special thank you to all the papers and magazines in the area that wrote articles about our upcoming tour and showcased homes and gardens, which included beautiful pictures, which appeared in so many different additions of their papers and magazines.

And, the biggest thank you goes to the members of the Milton Garden Club who worked so hard and long to make this the success that it was. Our garden club members are such a dedicated and determined group, which was evidenced by the overall success of the tour. All of my subchairwomen and members were so focused to ensure this tour would be so very special - by biggest thank you goes to you. Without the dedication and determination of the garden club members, the tour would not have happened nor would the town of Milton benefit from the beauty of the gardens and planters that grace the streets and parks throughout town. You are a great group of individuals, which I am so proud to be a member. We worked hard to make this a success and it truly was.

We look forward to seeing all of you again next year on the 16th Annual Garden and Home Tour. Again, you have my sincerest thank you for your support. I am so very proud to be a member of this organization and a resident of Milton.

vice president, Milton Garden Club
