PSC approves Delmarva Power natural gas rate adjustment
Recently, the Delaware Public Service Commission gave Delmarva Power approval to recover 50 percent of the costs related to natural gas advanced metering infrastructure.
Natural gas advanced metering infrastructure allows customers to view and manage their natural gas energy use online through My Account. Customers can sign up for My Account at delmarva.com or through the Delmarva Power Self-Service app.
The change will result in an overall monthly bill increase of 37 cents or about 0.3 percent for residential customers who use 120 CCF of natural gas per month during the heating season.
The recovery on this asset was previously approved by the PSC in 2013, on a phase-in basis, as part of Delmarva’s Gas Base Rate Case. Recovery was conditioned upon Delmarva meeting certain cost benefit analyses. The billing change is expected to go into effect during the July 2014 billing cycle.
Delmarva Power encourages customers to visit www.delmarva.com for information on saving energy and money in their home or business. The company also offers customers Budget Billing, a fixed-payment plan based on the customer’s 12-month average bill. Customers can enroll online or by calling 800-375-7117.
