McGuiness watches out for property owners

July 25, 2014

Growing up locally, my family has been involved in many local volunteer groups including the Rehoboth Volunteer Fire Company, many charities and community organizations.

I grew up with Kathy McGuiness, who is running for Rehoboth Beach Commissioner. Kathy and I have always been connected, going to Rehoboth Elementary School, junior high and Cape Henlopen High School together. All during that time I have commended her commitment to community service. Even when we were kids, she volunteered her time and energy for so many things, and has shown to be a natural leader.

When she became a business owner, and then a member of the board of commissioners, I was so impressed at her ability to get things moving - and the energy she is still determined to give to her community. She is passionate about beautification projects, improving downtown's infrastructure, and making sure that property values stay safe for everybody who owns property in Rehoboth, whether they live in town full-time or not.

As effective as her past service has been in her four terms as a commissioner, I'm most impressed that she continues to care, and still wants to volunteer her time to make a difference. She gives it her all for all of us. She does her homework, is financially prudent and will help usher our way through some upcoming major projects, working side by side with the mayor and commissioners, just as she has done in years past.

I know she has great working relationships with our state and local officials, and will roll up her sleeves and get results as her track record shows. All Rehoboth voters should vote in their best interest and vote to elect Kathy McGuiness on Aug. 9.
