Markert is an asset to Rehoboth

July 31, 2014

We have been very lucky living in Rehoboth Beach, a town with hardworking elected officials and also good candidates who are willing to step up to lead our town. I want to take this opportunity however, to share some personal experience with one of the commissioner candidates, “Bunky” Markert. I have known Bunky for over 20 years and recognize an experienced civil servant, with a CPA who has served ably on the Rehoboth Planning Commission, volunteered for many unsung town activities, and who has a great sense of humor!

In particular I would share that as a fellow member of the Rehoboth Beach Sister Cities Association Board, Bunky worked tirelessly as our treasurer to help raise and manage the money for the Rehoboth Beach/Greve garden, which has won national recognition for our beach town. It is a truly lovely addition and “Bunky” worked with the public and the RBSCA board in a professional and balanced manner to achieve this positive result.

Those are the qualifications and experience, plus his persistence that we look for in a candidate. His win would be a win for all of us! Vote Markert Aug. 9.
