Millsboro man sinks first hole-in-one

August 4, 2014

Millsboro resident William "Bill" Erlte sunk his first hole-in-one at Butler’s Woodside Course in Elizabeth, Pa., Saturday, July 26.

Bill did not realize the ball had rolled in the hole but soon started jumping up and down like a kid at Christmas when he was informed it went in.

The ace occurred on the par-3, 128-yard 13th hole, which has an elevated tee box and an elevated green. The course is along the banks of the Youghiogheny River and features gently rolling terrain. Course conditions were very good and the weather perfect for the inaugural Glenn Bonczek Retirement Golf Outing.

The hole out was witnessed by Jeff Saccani of Belle Vernon, Pa., and Glenn Bonczek of McKeesport, Pa.

Shown is Glenn Bonczek congratulating Bill Ertle at the 13th tee holding the 8 iron (Mizuno MX-25) used to make the shot.
