McGlone campaign contributions worrisome

August 8, 2014

Tom McGlone’s campaign has received $11,850 in campaign contributions, 36 percent from people listing Rehoboth addresses and 64 percent from out-of-town addresses (www.cfrs.elections.delaware.gov, as of Aug. 5).

1,500 came from three people at one address in Lewes and $1,200 from one address in Annapolis, Md. Seventeen people have contributed $500 or $600. Mr. Pires of Dewey Beach contributed $500. I am aware that some of these contributors could own property in Rehoboth.

However, I am not sure what the interest is of these nonresidents in Mr. McGlone or his campaign, but it does concern me. Mayor Cooper has not solicited campaign contributions, and the four contributors he has ($875 total) all list addresses as Rehoboth Beach.
