SCAOR president completes national program in Chicago

August 14, 2014

Sussex County Association of Realtors 2014 President Brad Riedle recently completed a comprehensive, multiday training program conducted in Chicago, Ill., by the National Association of Realtors.

The training is specifically designed for attendees to mediate financial disputes involving cooperative real estate transactions, as well as disputes among buyers, sellers and/or other Realtors.

“Every now and then, we have a transaction that doesn’t go as smoothly as it should, and SCAOR is often called on to mediate those potential disputes. As president, this training was important for me so that I can now play a more essential role in these proceedings,” says Riedle. “This process allows Realtors to arbitrate disputes among themselves, rather than in the courts, a scenario which has proven beneficial in the past and I expect will continue to prove beneficial in the future.”

Riedle completed his training at NAR headquarters in Chicago July 16-18. This NAR-sponsored training has been available around the country since 1999, with more than 1,000 Realtors and association staff members taking advantage of the program.

The Sussex County Association of Realtors was chartered in 1949 and has steadily grown in size, scope and mission during its more than six decades in Sussex County. It is a professional trade association with goals of carrying out a program of education and advocacy for real estate in the county.
