Easter Seals and A.C. Moore kick off back-to-school season

Campaign runs Aug. 15-Sept. 15
August 15, 2014

There is an easy and crafty way for the community to help all children be back-to-school ready and set up for success in their education. For the fifth year in a row, A.C. Moore is joining the initiative to provide the proper tools and support for all children in their early years through its Crafting a Better World for All Kids Campaign.

Customers who visit any A.C. Moore store from Aug. 15 to Sept. 15 can donate $1 at checkout to Easter Seals’ Make the First Five Count campaign, which offers free, online developmental screenings and provides thousands of children access to tools they need to make sure they are reaching their fullest potential.

Since launching the campaign in 2010, A.C. Moore customers and store team members have raised nearly $500,000 for Easter Seals nationwide. The two Delaware A.C. Moore stores have raised approximately $20,000.

“We are invested in our local communities and, for the fifth consecutive year, we are giving customers an opportunity to express their creativity and learn the importance of investing in early childhood development by making sure all children are set up to achieve when they enter school,” said PePe Piperno, chairman of A.C. Moore.

“We know that the first five years of life are critical in a child’s development and long-term success,” said Ken Sklenar, president/CEO for Easter Seals Delaware & Maryland’s Eastern Shore. We are thankful to A.C. Moore for, once again, supporting Easter Seals in this endeavor.”
