KINfolk thanks Cape Region community

August 22, 2014

On behalf of the KINfolk Board of Directors, volunteers, staff, and most importantly the children that we serve, KINfolk and I would like to thank the Sussex community for generously supporting our Ninth Annual Wine Tasting and Art Auction that was held at The Cordrey Center in Millsboro July 17.

Together we raised over $17,000. We could not have had such a magnificent event without the support of the artists and merchants who donated to our live and silent auctions and to the people who came to enjoy the evening and support KINfolk!!

Special thanks to our sponsors: Jane Brady, Grotto Pizza, Holt Paper, Berkshire-Hathaway Home Services-Gallo Realty, Community Bank of Delaware, George Bunting Jr., Jack Lingo Realtors, Lewes Realty, Colliers Trim Shop, Hugh and Kathleen Leahy, Erin Martin - RE/MAX, The Coffee Mill, and Penn-Del Lock. Also to Delmarva Broadcasting, East Coast Garden Center, WM. H. Brady, Inc., Autism Delaware and the Children’s Beach House, and Cape Business Network, for their in-kind donations. And to Teller Wines for the fabulous wine selection they provided again this year!

A very special thanks goes out to Blooming Boutique for donating a silver Troll Bracelet with clasp to each person buying a ticket to come to our event. We also appreciate the generosity of our local restaurants for donating a delicious selection of finger foods. They were wonderful and enjoyed by all.

KINfolk would also like to thank all of the fabulous volunteers for their commitment to helping us achieve a successful event including our auctioneer Dave Wilson, and our celebrity pourers: Kevin Fleming, Marvin Carney, Becky Carney, and Tony Mongello. (A job well done).

Community support of KINfolk's Laptop Lending Program for hospitalized and homebound children will ensure that we can continue putting laptops on the laps and smiles on the faces of deserving children. KINfolk provide a means of communication with friends, family, clergy and teachers - the very people who love and support them at a time when they need it most.

The KINfolk Kids Say Thanks for your support and in making this event such a Great Success,

Kathy McNamara
