Venture Outdoors Fest coming to Trap Pond Sept. 12-14

August 20, 2014

Delaware has many outdoor recreational activities available to its residents, and during the weekend of Sept. 12-14, Venture Outdoors Fest will showcase them all at Trap Pond State Park.

There will be multiple activities offered, such as kayaking, canoeing, biking, pontoon boat tours, hiking, boat rentals, fishing, a primitive brewing demonstration, and more. Participants also have the option of camping out for one or two nights. A campground discount is being offered to participants to camp on both nights for the price of one.

Saturday night, Dogfish Head Craft Brewery will provide dinner and a beer sample, while Fenwick Wine Cellars will attend and do a wine tasting. Lunch on Saturday will also be provided, along with breakfast on Sunday morning. Meals will be accompanied by music from Clifford Keith and Jive Pickle.

All activities take place Saturday, Sept. 13. Tickets are $30 per person, adults and youth, and include all meals, activities and games, music and a T-shirt. Camping is an additional fee.

Trap Pond State Park is in Laurel and features a millpond for boating and fishing, trails for hiking and biking, and more. The Baldcypress Nature Center celebrates the park’s connection to the Cypress Swamp and Chesapeake Bay Watershed and features a casual rental space with a spectacular view of Trap Pond.
