Dewey commissioner clarifies stance

August 18, 2014

In response to former Commissioner James Przygocki’s letter titled “Dewey manager covers up policy violations,” a letter was published from Mayor Diane Hanson and the Dewey Beach Town Council titled “Dewey officials stand by town manager.” (Cape Gazette, Aug. 15).

I did not review or approve the letter from the mayor and my fellow commissioners. A two-hour time constraint and your paper’s deadline did not allow time to offer comments or amendments.

I prefer to resolve matters involving town policy, contracts, and public monies with transparency.

Anna Legates
commissioner, Dewey Beach
