SOLitude uses social media campaign to donate to Wounded Wear

August 24, 2014

Through its corporate volunteering program, The SOLution, SOLitude Lake Management, an industry leader in lake and pond management, fisheries management and related environmental services for the Eastern United States, donated $8,290 to Wounded Wear, a nonprofit organization that provides clothing modifications and inspirational opportunities for injured service men and women, as well as graphic clothing to wounded veterans and family members to raise national awareness of their sacrifice.

SOLitude Lake Management deployed a social media campaign to generate their donation to Wounded Wear. For every new social media follower SOLitude received from July 1 to July 31, they allocated $10 to the total donation. SOLitude Lake Management, their partners, and Wounded Wear promoted the campaign through their individual social media channels.

“We are thankful that our network, along with Wounded Wear's supporters, eagerly participated in this campaign to increase the overall donation. Wounded Wear is an amazing organization and reaches out each day to 'create a better world' for our brave soldiers and their families. We are appreciative of their service and proud to support their expanding mission, along with our nation's heroes,” said Tracy King, director of marketing at SOLitude Lake Management.

“Hundreds of thousands of Americans have served this great nation to ensure that all Americans have the freedom to live and flourish,” said Jason Redman, wounded warrior and founder of Wounded Wear. “Wounded Wear exists to honor and support these individuals who have made that sacrifice, but we could not do it without the support of great companies like SOLitude Lake Management who appreciate, honor, and support our veterans. On behalf of all veterans, wounded warriors, and families of the fallen, thank you SOLitude Lake Management.”

The SOLution is a company-wide program that encourages the company and all employees to strive to “create a better world” through volunteerism, community outreach, sustainability and environmental consciousness. SOLitude’s company leadership feels it is important to not only be good stewards of the environment, but also to fulfill company core values to “take action and be accountable” and to “protect and respect nature.”

Their programs are accomplished through free clothing, clothing modifications, empowering events, and connections to opportunities.
