Workshop on painting flowers in all media set Sept. 13-14

At Gallery One in Ocean View
August 24, 2014

A Fall Flower Fest Workshop with Shelli Ardizzone will be held from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 13 and 14, at Gallery One in Ocean View.

Using the freshest blooms from wholesale markets, Ardizzone brings together beautiful flowers, props and still life settings for participants to capture in the media of their choice. Artists and flower lovers of all levels are welcome to attend. The cost is $140 for the two days.

Ardizzone will demonstrate How to Begin a Floral Painting in oil and pastel, and then will give personal attention to the participants during each day’s session.

The space will be cozy so it is important for participants “edit” materials. They will need a basic color selection, an easel, appropriate canvas/paper sizes for two days, odorless solvents and a taboret or something to put paints/pastels on, similar to a plein air set-up.

Ardizzone has presented her popular Flower Power workshops for 14 years, attracting painters in all mediums and levels. She is a member of the Pastel Society of the United States and has been teaching workshops in San Miguel d’Allende Mexico, Taos, N.M., and Acadia National Park in Maine. She has studied at the Art Students League of New York and with Albert Handell, Doug Dawson, Daniel Green and Morton Kaish.
