Wheatley will keep our taxes low

September 2, 2014

We moved out of the city to enjoy the peace and quiet of small town living. We chose to build in Dagsboro in 2011 because of the low taxes, which is important to us since we are on a fixed income.

Well, we still have the peace and quiet, but the low taxes went out the window almost as soon as we moved in, when Dagsboro put in a large property tax increase. When we inquired about it, Mayor Brad Connor offered us little sympathy and no relief. With all the new property tax-paying homes in Dagsboro like mine, why did they need to increase the tax rate?

Now I understand Mr. Connor is running for County Council. I’m afraid he’ll raise our county taxes too. We just can’t afford to take that chance. I’m for the other Democrat, Bob Wheatley. He has some good ideas to keep taxes low for folks like us. I’m going with him.
