Rehoboth must grapple with pool issue

September 4, 2014

A "rude awakening " is causing great discontent among residents of Rehoboth Beach who are finding that they can not enjoy their own back porch or get a full night's sleep.

They are startled by the loud noises emanating from the adjacent neighbors' "party pools" at all times of the night when regular residents are trying to sleep. There are an increasing number of these pools being built behind massive rental homes which can accommodate 16 to 18 partygoers.

Our lots are too small for these large homes with pools. Do the mayor and commissioners have enough power to deal with this situation?
