Lewes artist Jean Doran donates painting for LHS gala Sept. 12

August 29, 2014

Lewes artist Jean Doran, left, gives her original acrylic painting of The Lewes Historical Society’s grounds to Ann Hilaman, president of the board of trustees. Doran’s painting will be auctioned off at The Lewes Historical Society’s September Gala for the Grounds Friday, Sept. 12.

Underwritten by Baywood Greens, the gala kicks off the grounds' beatification project, building local support to make the grounds beautiful, functional, and sustainable for the many events and visitors that use them each year.

“I’m glad to be able to do this for the historical society,” said Doran. “I believe strongly in their mission, and the project is important - we need to keep the grounds looking good while still being able to enjoy the many community events that are hosted here. It’s a worthy cause.”

The gala is scheduled for 6 p.m., Friday, Sept. 12, at the Lewes Historical Society Complex. For details, go to www.HistoricLewes.org or call 302-645-7670.
